Hey guys,

Welcome to the Beginners forum for Rusty Hearts.

I'll do my best to update this thread as often as possible, to include the most asked questions.

- General Questions

Q: What type of game is Rusty Hearts?
A: Rusty Hearts is a beat-em-up dungeon crawler MMORPG.

Q: Is there a monthly fee?
A: No there isn't! Rusty Hearts is free to play.

Q: Can I use a gamepad for Rusty Hearts?
A: Yes you can! Rusty Hearts was made for gamepads! We've found the best to use are a range of Logitech controllers and the official Xbox controller.

Q: What are the system requirements for Rusty Hearts?
A: You can find the system requirements here: http://rustyhearts.perfectworld.com/download

- Game Questions

Q: What are the dungeon difficulty levels?
A: There are 4 difficulty settings: Normal, Hard, Very Hard and Blood Modes.

Q: How do I enter a Blood Mode dungeon?
A: You must use a certain amount of Clovis to enter a Blood Mode dungeon. Clovis are usually dropped by Very Hard mode dungeon bosses.

- Character Questions

Q: What classes are there in Rusty Hearts?
A: We don't so much have classes, as Rusty Hearts is story-based, we use characters. There's Frantz, Tude, Angela and Natasha.

Q: What's an avatar?
A: An avatar is basically a "skin" of one of the characters. We currently have four avatars released: Meilin Chen (A Tude Avatar) and Roselle Vergerius (A Frantz Avatar), Edgar Grosvenor (An Angela Avatar) and Leila Vergerius (Another Frantz Avatar). An avatar follows the same playstyle as the character they're the avatar for. For example, Meilin will follow Tude's playstyle and will use Tude's weapons.

Could you expand on game FAQs? I've played my share of the game but still got some questions...
- Crafting: upgrade levels, success rates, dismantle products.
- Blood mode: when should someone attempt it (died thrice at Cafeteria 2F on LV25 solo), drops (I have no idea what to do with the pieces you craft at the misc. shop), perhaps a damage mod if it is known.
- Guilds: how to create, how to join, advantages of being in one.
- Quests: frequency, type (STO/NOR/REP), skipping benefits/drawbacks (e.g. it's not too bad if you skip half the chicken quests, since all of them total to the exp of a single bath run, but you shouldn't skip the last one else you lose the big egg).
- Auction House: How to sell, are there any fees subtracted from an item's end value, how to search properly. Five days in the game and for the life of me, I can't run a proper search, be it because the items I want have too long a name or because they have no level. No idea what the second-top list box is about, don't know how to see current auctions, since that tab is always empty.
EDIT: AH is case sensitive. Pretty important...

That's all I can remember right now, thanks for making this thread! I found another one but this one seems more appropriate.

Thanks for the heads up so many questions about the game, I'm so excited to try it out, As a beginner of Rusty Hearts It will be challenging for me but fun!!!

~Crafting:
Potions and lower-level weapon crafting is usually successful.
Upgrades to +3 have a very high success rate. They can still fail sometimes, but they usually work.
The dismantler at Ruska's weapon shop can dismantle weapons/equips and give you back the materials they're made of. Sometimes you can even get augment pebbles and socketed gems back.

~Guilds:
Read this Guild Guide by thecookieavenue.

~Auction house:
For some reason searching via the search box doesn't work for me. I usually find what I'm looking for if I filter by category and item class. For example, if I want to find fabric imbued with magic:
type: etc > ingredient > class: magic > click search. Then scroll through the results.

The "Current Auctions" displays the things YOU currently have listed in the AH and the prices for each.
If you have a "buy now" price, a small percentage from the final price is taken away. (1-2% I think.)
There is also a list fee to put your items up. After you add the item and fill out the prices, there is a box at the bottom of the AH window that shows what the list fee will be.

The third tab ("My Auctions" I think?) lists the auctions you have placed a bid on, but have not won yet. If you are out-bid, your gold is returned to you and the item disappears from this list.
